Rice makes it twice as nice!

Kerri Girl just called me :) That makes me so happy!

This morning at 10:30, I met my manager at the station here in Minatogawakoen. We walked to the ward office (city hall) and applied for my "gaijin card" aka ARC (Alien Registration Card). Then we went to the bank (SMBC) and opened an account... which currently has zero monies in it. But I will get a debit card with my name in kanji on it. Sweet.

While applying for said card, I had to write down my current address.... in kanji.... I can't write kanji.... my manager was laughing so hard at my lame-ass attempt at writing a foreign alphabet. But whatevs, I'll learn it eventually.

From the bank, we went to a department store and bought new sheets and garbage bags. They separate EVERYTHING over here. I'm scared to throw anything away, I don't want to screw it up.

Last night I watched "V for Vendetta". I love that movie.

I am getting a Japanese cell phone in a few weeks. I will probably go with Softbank (a provider) because their commercials have a talking dog.

Lindsay left me a whole bunch of awesome foods in the pantry. But they're all written in Japanese, so 1. I don't know what they are and 2. I am clueless as to how to cook them. I made flashcards to learn katakana (one of the alphabets). So far, so good. My staff is impressed. I know Myodani in hiragana, only because Lindsay told me it looks like a 'girl with a ponytail and a house'.

Apanman is creepy as hell.

Went to the grocery store after work, bought a 5lb. bag of rice. Yummmmmmy. Had rice, shrimp, and a dried veggie shake on top. I'm domestic now.
