Tokyo! - Day One - Harajuku & Shibuya

Saturday night, we rode the over night bus from Osaka to Shinjuku Station in Tokyo. 8 hours on a bus, no fun. I kept peeking out the curtains on the buss, and watched the sun rise over rural Japan. We got off the bus in Shinjuku, and ate breakfast at McDonald's. Then we got PasMo cards (debit cards for railway in Tokyo), and went to Otori.

Random warning on the train. Don't put your crotch too close to the door, or someone will spray paint NO on your back.

The hotel wasn't ready to check in until 4, so we left our bags and heading into town. Got on the wrong train and ended up in Yokohama. Made a little game to pass the time by untangeling my scarf. An old woman on the train laughed, and chatted with us for a bit. I offered part of the scarf for her to help us untangle, but she said she had bad eyes. Then gave us plum candy.

Went to Harijuku, and shopped for a bit. Ate mexican food, which was pretty good. We were really silly because we were so tired. Bought a new wallet, a Miffy one. The guy asked if I wanted a bag, and I said no thanks, then he pulled out a sweet Miffy bag, and said "Would you like to reconsider your decision?" Not really but that's the jist of what was said. So of course I took it.

The only Forever 21 in Japan. This line was insane.

People like to dress strangely. We were too early for the crowds apparently.

Busy crosswalk.

View from our room 712. Tokyo tower is the tall orange and while structure to the left.

Shibuya at night. The world's busiest crosswalk.

Not super busy, it was Sunday night during a holiday.

Roto sushi for dinner.

KRISPY KREME for desert. Yum! Miho in front of the Hot 'N Now.

I dunno, just funny to me.

Toyoko Inn. Our hotel. We were so exhausted the first day!
