Sayonara, Mika Chan!

Saturday was Mika sensei's last day teaching at Myodani. She's moving to Tokyo to marry her boyfriend. Mika was always so happy and fun, and I'm really going to miss hearing her running down the hallway in heels at school.

We had a party after school for her, but she had to run home to tell the movers what to ship before she came back. When she walked in, we all had those noise makers and yelled "Congratulations!"

Today, Meiko and I are going to Takarazuka to watch her friend Aya play traditional Japanese music on a koto. Please check out this article, especially Koto today, paragraphs 3 and 4.

J Tang's Farewell Party & Surprise Beach Birthday

Sunday I went to Osaka and sang karaoke for two hours with Janet Tang, a fellow teacher from Scotland. She was leaving on Monday, and had a farewell party with a bunch of other teachers she knew. After we sang our hearts out, we went on a scavenger hunt. My group got tired of half assing it, so we just grabbed some beers and people watched. It was awesome.

Monday, Jen and Miho threw a surprise birthday party for me on the beach! We had cake, and BBQ, and sparklers. Great times.

Beginning of the scavenger hunt. Not on the list, just a nice car.

Hoegaarden in a can! I kept calling Jason "Risky Business".

At the beach. Aaron and Adam playing with some sticks they found.
