Kobe Biennale with Ayako

Monday, Ayako and I went to the Kobe Beinnale, which was at Meriken Park and the Hyogo Prefectural Museum of Art. It was pretty awesome, and definitely weird.

Meriken Park was filled with shipping containers, which each held a unique exhibit.

Flower arrangements. Beautiful, grand, and pretty intense for flowers.

Ayako in my favorite exhibit, "Squishy Life Track". You had to wear special boots. It was pitch black, but when you hit the koosh balls, they lit up. Awesome. I want a room like this in my house.

I love "Squishy Life Track".

Clocks with hands and no numbers. Kinda creepy to me.

Moooooo. Cow statues.

Another favorite. An entire container filled with fans and confetti. I spent about 15 minutes dumping confetti on these two kids (they were doing it to me to, so I guess it was self defense).

I was picking confetti out of my hair and bag for the rest of the day. Totally worth it though.

This was very "Through the Looking Glass". You were instructed to write your dream on a piece of this special paper, then put it in the cauldron and stir it until it dissolves. Of course they were out of paper by the time we got there :(

Rabbit shaped doorway to the dream cauldron.

Dreams went into this.

I couldn't resist stirring it. Ayako asked, "What are you doing?", I said "Stirring the dream soup". She laughed for a while about that.

Doorways.

Entering another shipping container/exhibit.

Anyone else hearing "Saturday Night Fever" right now?

Took the ferry over to the Hyogo Prefectural Museum of Art.

"YAY ART!"

This video is for Dad. Sorry it's sideways. But this was super bizarre to me. Be sure your speakers are turned reaaaaaally loud, especially if you're at work or in public. Enjoy.
